Job Description
Victory Meat and Produce Market Ltd. is looking for a full-time Retail and Wholesale Buyer to join our team.

Position Summary:
Our Retail and Wholesale Buyer will be tasked with:

• Purchasing merchandise for resale to our retail and wholesale customers.
• Review requirements of our retail and wholesale operations and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
• Select the merchandise (products for retail and wholesale sale and supplies for our use) which best fits our requirements.
• Establish and maintain contact and strong business relationships with our suppliers.
• Coordinate procurement, planning, scheduling, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and product delivery with our other retail and wholesale buyers, warehouse and delivery staff.
• Oversee planning and scheduling activities for our international and domestic supply chains.
• Monitor trends, supplier changes, market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials and prices to seize opportunities and protect company interests.
• Assisting our Director of Procurement with weekly, monthly and annual inventory counts and audits and maintaining inventory accuracy and turnover.
• Remain flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed and receive cross-training for other roles.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, business management or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing for retail or wholesale operations.

• Candidates need to have good contacts/connections in procuring international products to support a growing demand for such products by our retail and wholesale customers.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team- based environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Highly organized and process-driven.
• Experience working in a retail and wholesale food environments would be

  considered a strong asset.

  Hours:

  6:00 am – 3:00 pm, Tuesday – Saturday.
  Hours may vary depending upon delivery schedules.

  Type: Hourly, full-time

  Location: Fredericton, NB

  Salary: Starting hourly rate of $20.00.
