Now Fredericton has a reliable Halal meat supply from right here in the maritimes.

What is Halal Meat?

For those wondering, halal means “permitted” or “permissible,” and Islam has a list of requirements for halal meat, including stipulations for how the animals are raised and how they are slaughtered.

There is also a list of additives that are not permitted (haram) such as rennit, xanthan gum, gelatin, and many others.
